Instructions are in the BG-ED3 manual... way too complicated to explain in in a message ;)

The hand strap I have is the one with the button on one end that makes a loop. It doesnt have the 3 loop bracket.

If you can't find the BG-ED3 manual, you can download the PDF version of the 1D or 1Ds manuals, and the instructions are in there, too. Once you've done it, it seems very obvious, but until it's explained to you, it's decidedly not clear.

Is this the same strap? I dont think so because it doesnt have the 3 loop buckle but it has some ring of buttons for something.
*Sorry about the quality. Still trying to master the built on flash.*

I must confess, I'm not famliar with that one. I thought they only made the one style, and can't even imagine what to do with that particular setup.

It's hard for me to tell from the photo, but, it appears to be the same type of "around the post and pull back up and through the clip thingy", like most camera straps use. You know. . . confusing, hard to adjust, and if you ever get it set to the proper length you don't dare mess with it straps.

The E1 has a little 3 loop thingie. This one doesnt have that 3 loop thingie but has some kind of button setup which i havent been able to find anywhere. This pl-leather piece says EOS canon but God only knows from how long ago.

the one came with my 1D is slightly different, mine doesn't have button on it, but i'm sure if you follow instruction in the manual, you'll be able to connect it, i had a little problem with mine when i started, but soon i realised i was reading the manual in the wrong order. then it was solved.
good luck!
