Hello,

I took some photos at a concert last night (thanks for the tips from another thread).

Most of the shots I took in RAW format at 1600 speed with some on a standard setting.

The photos I took on the standard setting are crystal clear but the RAW ones look really grainy, any advice anyone ?

I am looking at the RAW shots using Breezebrowser.

Cheers,

Lee

OK, when you views the images in breezebrowser it does not show you the raw file untill you go to convert it. What you see is the embedded Jpeg... which is Small size... so will look granier.

Get the shots that are well composed / exposed and you want to develop... develop them and then view the TIFF files... you will see a difference!

Richard, thanks for the reply, you are right they look fine as a TIFF.

One problem I found at the concert was that I expected a dark concert, what I got was a gig in a Marquee when it was still light outside. Being a novice I was confused but I think the pics worked OK (better than I expected anyway !).

GLad you got some shot you are Happy with Lee... now... lets see them :)

I made the mistake also a few time Ron... but I wasn't convinced it was a problem as such and that is when I realised BB just displays the jpeg.

I now use BB for checking exposure, composition and basic focus only :)

I need to look at all the images I took and alter light settings etc but these ones looked like they needed little work, please do not be too critical as I am just starting out and it wasn't as dark as I had hoped (lighting was shining on faces too !) :D

Nice. The first picture is my fav as it looks almost perfectly exposed.
Very tough lighting in the other two. Lots of shadows to deal with heh?
