Spent three days up there. Just got back. We got hit with a storm, so I did not do many of the hikes that I was planning to. The place is absolutely beautiful. Here is a shot. Taken at mono lake, during brief period of sunshine that day. More to come. Hope you enjoy it.

nice sky, did you use a polarizer?

I did not use a polarizer, though I should have. I did have to boost the contrast a little, and warmed up the WB, which had the effect of making the blues darker.

Overall I like it but the sky blue is a tad too dark across the top for me Still an awesome location you've captured.

Looks incredible, I think I saw shots of this lake on my Planet Earth Blu-Ray discs. Great shot!

thanks Neon, its a cool place. Gets 1000 visitors a day. B/C of the storm, on that day, maybe 50 people visited it. I had it for the most part all to myself.

Kevindar--is that a storm coming in to the right of the photograph? Would be curious to see what would have happened had you aimed more to the right with a longer tele and shoot in mono. Would love to go there sometime.

no, this is after the storm had cleared out. when I first got there, it was heavily over cast. It had been snowing the day before and that morning. as time went on, the sky opened up. here is a shot before the sky opened up, all gloomy, bw. Its in my other sierra post
