Ok I have seen this for the third time now. And I want to know what the heck is a Canon 310D?
I googled the term but all I found was a Powershot.
Tell me your secret! Tell me noooooooow!

It's a name for a digital rebel with the hacked firmware.

A little dumb, but I see where they're coming from. With the firmware it's definitely a better 'revision' of the camera. If Canon reduced the price on the 300D and then sold a '310D' that inlcuded MLU, FEC, ISO3200, etc that the firmware unlocks, I could see them charging $999 for it and people buying. Oh and they'd make it black with red highlights, and call it the Digital Rebel Pro. Maybe bump it to 8mpixel. I could see it happening!
My $.02

I thought the 310D was the black colored one, as firmware doesnt offer THAT much to allow for a brand new model.

c0ntrolz coined the term "310D" to refer to the 300D with the hacked firmware because you get alot of the functions previously only available on the 10D, and because we hated the term "hacked firmware" as it seems to scare alot of people from using this very useful firmware.
It's not dumb at all. It's just a fun term.

Ahh ok, basically a technical nickname makes sense.
