Found this little baby shield bug sitting on this blooming weed. He's about 4mm long.
Both shots are heavily cropped.
C&C welcome.
Edit: Correction, it's not a baby shield bug after all.

Just had to add this even more heavily cropped image. This lens is sweet.
So much detail out of something so small.:)
His whole body is no bigger than a small ant.

Thanks Pete and Joan.
What I like about the shield bug is his size. I looked right at him at least ten times. I finally nelt down and noticed it was a teeny shield bug.
I find myself staring at leaves and twigs now, because I feel like I'm always overlooking something.;)

Thanks Toby. Man they sure look a lot alike don't they.
Thanks for the correction though. I appreciate it.:)
Edit: Now I need to walk back down there as I saw some other critters this morning that may well
be baby shields.

Both nice shots but I do like your little bug - good detail on the eyes there.

Thanks Omri, I'm glad you spotted that. There was a few specs of junk on my lens. Gave it a good cleaning.

Thanks Linda, I'm really loving this lens.

Thanks Alby, I've never seen one either. Then again I've never really looked as hard for bugs as I do now. He is really small, easily missed.:)
