Hi All.
I was thinking of putting some photos on the Web for sale. This would be for business/tax reasons, not because of good photography....for now anyway.
Is there software out there that one can purchase for making stock photo Web sites? Do most professionals come make their own site? I like EE for use on my own site, but would it work well for a site that sold image rights?
Thanks

I know of no e-commerce versions of EE, but basically that should be quite easy to to if you know which system it is integrated to. You could add a "buy" or "add to cart" link to each photo which would pass photo id and name to shop system which would then process the deal with new set of forms. Other way to do it is to have an ordering for which would be emailed to you or stored to database - you would process the forms manually.
In either case the photo id would be the main information passed and the system after than could be virtually anything.
I have plans to have some e-commerce integration - I have to see which e-commerce software packages are most popular and most used. The simple ordering form I could code into next version if you like.
Cheers,
Pekka

I guess an order/contact form would work pretty well.
Three things I could think of would be:
- a check-box at the exhibition level that would indicate photos included in the exhibition are for sale
- a sales blurb that would be included on each photo viewing page, only if the check-box above were checked, that would say something about the obtaining the rights to the photo
- a link to the above contact form that would appear on each photo-viewing page when the above check-box was checked. When clicked, the contact form would appear with name, phone, e-mail, comments
How does this sound?
