I like the 2nd one the best.

Here comes the critique:

1st image - I think the violin is too overpowering. The fact that it is in front covering his face made it very distracting (for me). I actually like the moody gaze you captured in his eyes on this one.

2nd image - I think the best image of the bunch. The sunlight and his gaze works very well together. I would probably just crop it a bit from the top............ then it would be perfect!!

3rd image - Hmmm...........the blurred leaves in the front of the image is not doing it for me. The eyes are also not as sharp as I want it to be. One suggestion, how about doing this last image in b&w....I think it will have more impact............and the green leaves will blend in more with the model.

#1 I agree with roanjohn that the violin is distracting. It covers too much of his face.

#2 is nice and I really like the light. A bit unfocused/soft though.

#3 I think I like the face expression and angle best in this one. Not sure why, but I like it. The leaves are a bit distracting though, especially the ones that are around his shirt.

Otherwise I like the shots. :) And he's definitely cute...single? hehe (hey! with all these half nude glamour models on the board, I'm allowed to drool over a few of the male models posted) :P

I actually like the concept of the first one, but as the others have said, too much of his face is behind the violin. I'd shoot it again with the violin a little lower. Also I'd warm up the colors a little bit. Being shirtless and with that bluish cast makes me want to shiver.

The second one is quite nice.

The third doesn't do much for me. His expression while enigmatic, doesn't say anything in particular. It would also be better without the leaves in the foreground.

I think the first image, violin withstanding, is the best of the three. I disagree about it being overpowering. You're obviously not doing portrait work so what does that matter?

I do, however, agree that the leaves shouldn't be in the foreground and out of focus in the third photo.

I guess it all depends on where you're selling your work.

Good job!
