These were the first sample images from a skilled photog that I have seen from the D300. I'm not trolling around, people are curious about other comparable models and what not, it's good to know what other cameras can do and what not.

Sorry for being so negative but have to be honest. Seems that Noink has sought low noise (to compete with Canon) but in doing so they have done excessive NR which kills all fine detail - color depth and contrast gone with it, too. Even ISO 1600 looks flat and mushy. Looks like P&S image quality to me, apart from lower noise.

Not bad for noise level. GO CANON!!! LETS KICK SOME BUTT WITH BETTER CAMERAS!!!!!

There is a big difference in noise shooting in daytime versus night.

800 and above are just ugly from all the NR. It'd be good enough for a newspaper pj or something, but the NR is just WAY too much for anything else. Ruins the shots.
