I went visiting family on the weekend and came across this great old house on the way there. It kind of spooked me out to get close and take some shots, but it was fun. C&C always welcome. Thanks, I really appreciate it. :)

Man that would make a great haunted house for a movie setting or something. This picture really captures some sort of eerie feeling. Great shot! I love it when pictures make me feel a certain way about them. That means they are working right?

c'mon! From what movie did you took that photo from ;)

Great shot. The B&W conversion worked very nicely, balanced exposure. Very nice indeed.

I would just have changed a little bit the composition to get more of the clouds and less of the foreground.

keep up the good work ;)

Nice shot, but what did you do to the clouds! It looks like you painted them.

This looks unreal, I love it :) The clouds look almost like smoke in a burning room. Excellent B&W conversion as well!

These look like mammatus clouds. Was there a storm near by?

I can just see the crazy running out of there with his mask on and the chainsaw going... very creepy indeed. But you've captured it very nicely. Thanks for sharing

That is very flattering for you to say that it could come from a movie. Actually, Stephen King is thinking of using it for the cover of his next horror novel. Kidding of course. ;) Thanks for the great comments!

Thanks. Actually, if you look close enough, you might be able to make out some faces in there.

I like this shot. Looks nice and crisp.

Yes, these were storm clouds ready to burst, and it poured down about 15 minutes later.

Very cool :-)

Nice shot

What I did was use a combination of the burn tool at 10% opacity, and passed over the clouds a few times to gave them a little richer look, then I used the blur tool at 50% and painted around the edges a bit to "fluff" them up. Finally, I used unsharp mask on the whole image after I resized it for web viewing, which gave them a bit more texture. But other than that, they were naturally dark and saturated. Hope this helps.

See above. Thanks.

Again, thanks everyone, I really appreciate it!

I don't like B&W images; this is the first I've seen that I would print and frame.

You can take that as a compliment.

nice photo, but the clouds look too strange to me... if I were You I would decide for one type... so I would not make those unreal clouds or removed the real ones...

Thanks again people for the comments.

robgr85: The clouds were not actually that unreal at all. The unreal ones you are referring to were fluffy dark storm clouds ready to burst. A little enhancing on my part just accentuated their already strange appearance. And there were a couple of thin white floaters in there as well. It was definitely a strange sight, I must say, hence the reason why I knew I had to photograph it. Thanks for commenting.

Ok, so here is the original. As you can see, its not very interesting. But the cloud formations existed. I just chose to help make them a little more prominent and foreboding.

Thanks for posting. You're right, they do look weird. It shows what a good job you did with the image but I would have left the clouds as they were.

It's difficult to replicate something natural, especially clouds, even if you clone it willl never loook quite right.
