It depends on where you ordered the item from. Some sites, like Amazon and B&H Photo, have a user account page where you can view all your orders and their status. If the order shows as shipped then there will be a tracking number associated with the shipped order.
Other places may send you an email when the order ships and the tracking number will be specified in the email.
And, of course, there are a few places that leave you in the dark and you have to call their customer support line to find out the status of your order.

Thanks Leo, I placed the order with buydig.com. And it does say shipped but has no tracking num. I guess I will try and email them and see how to go about tracking the order. I appreciate your help. :D

Often you need to have registered with the site and have logged in when placing the order to use their tracking facility.
Some sites have an e-mail tracking system when you put the order number in the Subject line of the e-mail. Others will only track it for you if it is overdue for delivery or appears to have gotten lost.
Dunno about buydig, but B&H's UPS tracking system works perfectly almost to the front door.

Thanks John... for the good info. But they have emailed me and said that when my order ships out that I will get an email with tracking numbed to be able to track my order. So far they have been very good. Just hope all goes well. Well keep you all posted about how their serevis is.
I was trying to go with the cheapest..I no cheapest is not always the best but. I was trying to save a few dollars and this place had the best price and with good feed back that I read that others had left. SO I will keep my fingers and toes and all cross  till that day get here.
I sure hope it all goes well. Thanks again for your help John. :D

I don't know about buydig.com, but if you are looking for the cheapest on Internet, beware!! There are a lot of rip-off stores, who will for example tell you they sell you something for an incredibly low price, but then they will charge you excessive shipping costs, send you a camera without batteries, manual etc. (you'd have to buy those separately) or press you into buying lots of accessories that you don't want.
Always do some research and at the very least check at http://www.resellerratings.com if you're dealing with someone credible... it will save you a lot of trouble.
