This is one of the first pictures of mine that I actually like.

The photo was HIS idea. He said, "Can I run up to your camera, and you take a picture of me?". "Sure, why not..."

I photo-chopped the background to remove a lawn chair & misc toys...

Let me know what you think.

Thanks

It's a very interesting photo. I like the contrast between your nephew and the grass.

I think it's a little soft, though.

your shutter speed is 1/40, maye your nephew was moving and created the blur/softness.
perhaps you could try using a higher shutter speed next time by either bumping the ISO or opening the aperture more?
cool pic though

Hi RinkRat

You worry about sharpness. I'm sure there are some settings on your camera to adjust it. But basically, it seems to be better to have a soft picture from the camera and to sharpen it afterwards in the computer.

I tried to sharpen your picture, and, while at it, I applied some geometrical corretion for the distortion due to the small distance between face and lense. And this is the result:

Sharpness is definitely a lot better - but keep in mind that I started out from your small jpg file.
The main question is: does HE like it that way?
