I have been requested to remove all Luis Miguel images, sorry!

Nice shots.
I like to see an audience shot again.

Pretty bad 'striping' on the screen. Probabely a drawback of having that much light: Too fast shutterspeeds ;)

DwightMcCann

Yes, the striping occurred at faster than about 1/100th I think but it was not consistent ... I have no idea what the technology was. There is NEVER too much light! :-)

Is he the dude that fell off the stage once and they keep on replaying it all the time on those silly out take shows?

Quite honestly that isn't the sort of thing I pay any attention to so I have no idea ... and, of course, if it was in Spanish I wouldn't have understood it even if I had attended!

Very nice Shots! I really like all the work you did on the first one, even though in the third..his attention is focused at the camera, I prefer the second candid...and good last crowd shot. For some reason I love taking pics of people taking pics with the cell phones!

Thanks, Linda ... I also have images of people using XT's! I see very few Nikon consumer cameras used at the casino.

I love them! I didn't mean it as a dis...Don't even think about equipment. I just love the enthusiasm and heart of someone engaged in the event.

It never crossed my mind that you were! Be safe.

Luis Miguel has requested that I remove all images of his show from access. First time in well over 100 shows. They had already been found by his fans in Latin American countries and linked into several social forums, sigh.

Wow...that's terrible.

Well, I am surprised that they didn't want these quality of images available and I am surprised that they even noticed my piddly little gallery, but it's their decision and doesn't cost me anything ... I've been paid.

Luis Miguel is huge in Mexico and other LA countries, and he has this diva pose all the time, he is unreacheable, untouchable, it really sucks that he has this attitude, but that's how things are. I wish I saw this thread earlier to see your photos...

Yes, I post well known Latins frequently here, Marco Antonio Solis (twice), Juanes, Paulina Rubio, Pepe Aguilar (twice) and more and no one here says, "Boo" as there are very few Latins participating. And yes, it is too bad Luis has made this choice but he is not the only one to take this path. I am sure that today there are a lot of young people who wish they had copied my images rather than just linking to them.

Here's an update! Someone on Flickr stole my images of Luis Miguel and posted them publicly on Flickr at http://flickr.com/photos/42563804@N00/. I have sent a Notice of Infringement but am also considering registering them with the USPTO and suing Flickr and this woman for maximum statutory damages ... I could use another house!

I don't know what someone like this Jezabell Suad is thinking when they copy images and post them in their own galleries wholesale like this. If you just look at the metadata exposed by Flickr for the images it says you can't use them: http://flickr.com/photo_exif.gne?id=1636148230 on top of my clear copyright statement. It is one thing to copy them for personal use but entirely something else to publish them in one's own gallery!

what someone like this Jezabell Suad is thinking

I'd say: Not.

Looks like flickr has one member less shortly ;)

I am beginning to think I may have to return to only posting my "collages" ... although there are a number of them posted around here and there as MySpace backgrounds. Anyway, I found this infringement via Google Alerts and I will shortly add a mention of that free service in the FAQ.

wow, that really sucks. At least I got to see them ;) .. but it really sucks that this guy is stealing your work.

So, I go out to your website and ... I CAN'T READ IT! I am Spanish challenged, sigh. Oh, well, I'll do something else. :-) BTW, you can still find these images on Flickr ... if they aren't gone by the end of the week (assuming Miguel doesn't come for me) I will be registering them with the USPTO and contacting an IP attorney.

Dwight, I'm sorry, but the problem here clearly is YOU!! You have nobody to blame here but yourself.

What you need to do is to become a crap photographer like me! My photos are completely not even worth commenting on, let alone stealing.

I guess you could take some cold comfort in the compliment of them being worthy of piracy (I know, it's hardly justifiable).

ps. I hope you didn't take me too seriously!

I know, I know, and I am trying to be better, honest. Rather than put those 1000 pixel/300KB+ size files out I have cut back to 800pixel/150KB files, and still the hoodlums and thieves keep coming out of the woodwork. Even with my logo on them they take them and post or sell them. I am now planning to put a copyright notice on my published works in addition to my logo, sigh, which is a lot of work. But, yes, I have brought this horrible, messy situation upon myself by luring in the unwary with beautiful images of their beloved performers that they can see and so must take and publish as their own.

So, Flickr apparently belongs to Yahoo ... deep, deep pockets to be unburdened. And what a grand experience this will be, suing a major corporation on contingency.

OH, yes, I know you say it's a joke but you really mean it!

Well, it seems clear to me that Yahoo, who owns Flickr, isn't really much concerned with their violations of copyright. I got an email today saying that I needed to send them a complete list of links to all the images that infringe rather than just the URL of the page from which they are all linked. I sent back an email with a list of nine URLs of pages that link to the images and advised that was my last good faith effort and if the images were still available at the close of business tomorrow I would turn the matter over to an IP attorney. They're the ones providing my images illegally so I think they should be the ones to find them and remove them. In any case, this will be a very educational experience for me.

oops!! :o I guess I need to make an english version!.. but there isn't much text in my site, most are only images. Just click in the button named 'Galeria' and that's it. The sub categories do have an english name. The text on the frontpage... it's just some random noise :p just ignore it.

I saw all the pictures. That's high quality work, great stuff!

I guess Luis Miguel is entitled to his own opinion, but you actually made him look good on those pictures.

Actually, the whole production staff is what makes any performer look good. I am sure he (his management) has their reasons for requesting the takedown and I don't even wonder about them. I am only irritated that someone copied my images and is redisplaying them essentially as their own. It does appear that the IPTC data has now been removed or else I don't know how to access that presentation.

you're right, is the job of the production staff to make a performer look the best, sound the best, etc. I just meant to say your pictures are really good, I liked most of them, and there are a lot of them in that page.

I hope you suceed at having them removed soon.

I knew exactly what you meant ... I was being modest ... apparently a rarity to hear some speak of me. ;)
