I intentionally gave it a warm feeling and all the glowing red and yellow things in the picture add to it. I will look into changing the color temperature slightly.

too busy, and now that the WB is better. it seems over-saturated. When shooting in a controlled enviroment. I use custom WB with my expodisc or just shoot a white object in the scene. Remove it from scene and then use to set the right WB.
I would put a bttole, glass and matches only with the watch on top...my 2 cents.

I like it, but the watch says its not 5'Oclock yet, but I suppose its always 5'Oclock somewhere.

personally, id say get rid of the red book under the shot glass, as well as the green bottle to the left.
then set the time on the watch to 11:XX ... then its night time and you have the "get a night life" on the match book and the booze

why not try f1.8-f2.8 for dof? You are using the 50mm f1.4 ?

I like the idea, but the planning needs to be rethought. I would like to see the other versions you have or thought of. As to the color balance, many think that it needs to be corrected. I am not one of them. Color balance is a creative tool just like everything else. If you want the image to look somewhat vintage or somewhat comfy or give an impression of warmth, then you use color temp to convey that feeling. There is no "correct" color or exposure except to those who seek a technical goal of perfection rather than artistry or photographic communication of the vision of the artist.

This is the best I could do with this photo. I think the composition needs to be re-thought.
