Just curious, what are most of you using to protect the lcd from scratches and skin oils, etc? Hoodman?? Any other products or advice for a new owner?

Thanks for your help.

I tried the Hoodman protection but with skin oil it smears much more than the built-in LCD protection. When I took the Hoodman off, it pulled off the built-in LCD protection. Just peeled off the Hoodman and put the Canon LCD protector back. I had no idea it was that easy to replace. Some people have posted that it is a $10 part but I was concerned about installation. A non-issue!

Canon solved this one with good design.

all those people who posted it was a $10 fix and easy to do...said the lcd was sooooo sooo hard to scratch anyways and not worth worrying about

the next day i scratched mine :(

but yes, it is pretty hard to scratch, and cheap to replace...

If you want to protect the LCD, get a screen protector for a palmpilot and cut to size.

Been using the same thing and it works like a charm. You can get 4 LCD protectors from one sheet.
