Hello, I am alwaysconfused. I am new here and wanted to tell you a little about myself before I begin
I am a student
I own a nikon n75 and an olympus c-700 that I want to sell for a nikon d70........
I am interested in photography and have a pretty nice eye but still need to learn a lot about it and experiment.......
So my question is that now that you know me. Is there a way I can play around with my Nikon N75 and make my photography better because around here I cannot find very interesting things to take a picture of. So any sites or tips or anything?
Thanks in advance, confused

We actually have a few Nikon users who are regulars here, and we do our best to make them welcome. We are always kind to those less fortunate.
Having gotten the gratuitous Nikon dig out of the way, I'm not really sure what you're asking.

If you're looking for some kind of tutorial on general photography, there are thousands of sources available. There are online courses, excellent books, magazines, night school courses, and so forth. I think we need a better idea of what you're hoping to accomplish and what resources you're willing to devote to that pursuit.
If you don't know where you're going, any road will get you there.

Well the kind of shots I want to take would be Macro, Night and Landscape. Those would be my main focuses that I like and I know that night is very hard so I would need some help about what film and other stuff to use.......Macro you need a good lense....and landscape is the one that I know nothing about. I just want to become better overall and be able to like shoot as an amatuer someday.........
Lol, I am glad there are other Nikon users, so I am not the only one lol.
I hope that helps about what I want to become and how to get better..... :?:

I really like to shoot landscape, sports, macro, and architectural. The links I sent should help.

I will not only remind you that we are a Canon forum, but we are also a Canon Digital forum. I say this because I don't want you to be offended if you don't get a lot of response to your questions. You've gone pretty far afield from the kinds of things we normally discuss around here.
You mentioned something called 'film.' What is that?

I don't know if you're saying we should have tried harder to help him, or what. It seems like recently we've had a flood of people with Nikons, Sonys, and other miscreant brands of cameras coming here for advice, and we’ve all tried pretty hard to be warm and welcoming. We have to be honest, however, and I think it’s only fair to remind these people that they’ve wandered into the wrong place. He was off base on two counts: Nikon and film.
Hmmm. ‘Miscreant.’
I really like that word. I should try to use it more often.

Well I have an A60 and I use it all the time. I agree that with the Nikons and other brands they should go to another place but if they can scan good enough pics for share and critique that is fine with me. I don't even care about newbie questions about DoF and shutter speeds. I like using the Minolta because I like SLRs and I am saving for a DSLR. I am hoping by the holidays to have one but I don't think or I hope no one cares that I post pics from it (x-700). I did ask some lens questions but that was more about basic questions about lenses.

Well, IMHO, the problem also lies in trying to help someone who doesn't really know which direction they're going or even what questions to ask. We'd love to be able to help them, but sometimes it's impossible to know where to begin.
Putting the Canon brand and SLR issues aside, love of photography is the one thing that we all have in common. In that respect, I think we'are almost always willing to talk to anyone on the subject----even Nikon film users or Nikon wannabe DSLR users.
