While heading out West for the winter, we've been driving through Iowa and Nebraska for the past few days. Not much to see but Corn and Combines and thank God for Satellite radio to keep us sane!!

Cool thanks for the info, is it in the mountains or the flatlands? We are trying our hardest to stay out of the winter weather that is on it's way to much of the country. Hate pulling the rig in the snow and especially on mountain roads.
That sounds like a cool spot, I'll Google it and see what I can find

Actually its in the black mountains (west) but it desert and not high enough to get snow like Flagstaff. Lots of stuff to shoot in that area.

Arizona is one big photo. All of the national/state parks, Sonora Desert west of Tucson, all of sedona and oak creek canyon, grand canyon etc. Just got back from Sedona about 3 weeks ago and the weather is perfect.

I love the one with the truck and field. It is so imazing.
What techniques, lens or filters did you use to make the curve?

Stood on top of the camper roof and with a Sigma 15mm fisheye lens. As you tilt the camera up or down, it distorts the perspective either up or down. It's one of my favorite lenses to get a completely differnt look from an other wise boring shot! No filters, just toned down a bit of the glare coming off the solar panel with some burning in CS3 and it was a done deal. I exposed for the sky to try and tame it down as I was shooting into the sun.
Thanks for the compliments
I cant wait to get to Arizona

It's probably one of my favorite lenses.

I for one love the scenery that Iowa and other states here in the plains have to offer, some of the best flat landscapes that you could ask for. Then again I haven't gotten out of this area so much, so what do I know! :P
Looks like you are still having some fun while going across this 'boring' landscape. I think if you have the time/money, the best way to travel is to take country roads and see what the state is really like. Interstates just don't offer the best that places that are available to shoot...

Couldnt agree more!! We never take Interstates and in the last 10 month of traveling full-time, we've logged over 20,000 miles and probably only put a few hundred miles of those on the truck driving on Interstates.
I think this is one of my favorite quotes and I try and use it often!!
"Thanks to the Interstate Highway System, it is now possible to travel from coast to coast without seeing anything." - Charles Kurault
Thanks for looking

Love the Hey Fields shot...
If you have the time I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND spending a little time in Northern New Mexico. Santa Fe, Taos and up to Chama...Looks like you're having a great time. Enjoy and have a safe journey.

Nice shots, Pat, and you have my sympathy. I've driven across the plains more than once, only occasionally finding something worthwhile. You are doing well with what you have.
While Oatman is a great spot to visit, don't take your rig there, the road is scenic. Stop in Kingman and drive your TV to Oatman, and there are other places around Kingman if you want to take the time.
Please see as much of CO and UT as weather permits. These are our favorite states to tour. After years of visiting, we still have lots to see. Also love NM and AZ, just too many places to mention. Use your search engines for what you like, but hiking is great in these places.
My gallery is organized by state, so you can see what we like to do. (Six years full time RV.)

Thanks for the info Stan, I'll look through your galleries and see if anything jumps out at me and PM you if that's alright?

I wouldn't say the Interstate systems have nothing to see because I-15 through the gorge in Arizona and I-70 through Glenwood Canyon in Colorado are impressive.

I like the 1st one in group 2 - with just the road. Would like it much better with the horizon pushed up a bit.
