I was going through the "Postprocessing" forum and came across Tone Masks to improve troublesome contrast situations. The lower image is the base raw conversion preserving as much image detail as I could, the upper image the Photoshop'd end result... thanks "gmitchel" for your tutorials.

Any suggestions for further improvements would be appreciated...

The first shot looks great, and its a beautiful shot too - nice colours and love the child's smile. Thanks for the link, I must check this out.

Thanks Shniks... once I got comfortable creating the masks the technique became a lot of fun to play with.
