Hi all,
My 1st post here....I am a happy S5 owner:)

I just bought a set of Canon LAH-DC20 for my S5. Good quality “plastic”. I found the adapter fit in nicely and tightly as S5’s bayonet ring.

I found lensmate is very popular for S3 users..wish to try it..my question is..does lensmate adapter fit as good as the bayonet ring too?

Many thanks!:)

Lensmate fits as well, if not better, than Canon. I bought it because I needed 52mm (they have 58mm too), it's made of metal and most users recommeded it highly. It is a very tight fit on the camera, with no rattle or movement.

The only thing I can think of that might be detrimental in using a metal adapter is that the camera mount is plastic and could be abraded by the metal of the adapter after long term use.

I leave the adapter on all the time with a uv filter so there is no issue for me, but if you do take it off frequently there may be a problem with either one over time.

Most of the people who recommended the adapter when I first got my camera, keep it on all the time to protect the camera lens mechanism and lens face. But as I mentioned to another poster a few days ago, the camera becomes much larger and more dslr like.
