Cool - it'd be funny to see someone who's never used a true manual camera try one of the older cameras.

I dug out my dad's old camera stuff and he's got a Leica F, Contarex SLR with Plenar 50mm and 135mm lenses, Zeiss/Ikon Contraflex SLR, and a Rolleicord TLR MF with a 50mm lens. The TLR is the one I want to play with.

Who else has old gear?

I'd want to play with the 50mm MF also. :D That should be avesome.

I have lots of "old" stuff. Most of it is better than digital in some way.

It's been fun playing with the MF. Getting used to the reverse viewing has been a challenge. I shot a 120 roll of Tri-X Pro 400 and a 120 roll of Ilford HP4 125. I don't have my light meter with me so I resorted to using the Sunny 16 rule. Have no clue if I got it right or not. I'll find out in a few days. Fortunately, all the shots were throwaways - if they don't turn out, no big deal.

FWIW "Focal" was K-Mart's house brand.
