I am new to this forum so a Hello to everyone is in order.

I have been processing photos from my Canon XT/60mm Macro lens for Product photography for the Web. Downloaded in Canon Zoom Browser and then Batched to a TIFF file in IrFan.

It amazes me that each software program shows these TIFF files differently. PS Elements, Fast Stone, Corel PSP, IrFan all show the pictures with different Algorithms and it drives me crazy as I am not sure which is a true representation and which isn't.

Clients will all see the pics differently, so which software is the best all around editor? Each package has different pluses and minuses..some show TIFF's and some don't. Some have great color correction while others don't.

I guess I am driving myself crazy trying to find a program for Product's and color but it is so hard.

Any input is greatly appreciated.

Thank you

Elliot

Thank you for your thorough and informative post...Great Stuff.

I downloaded Safari and giving it a test drive....never having used MAC/Apple OS before there are a few "things" that I am used to that are difficult.....

I opened a few .jpg's in Safari, Firefox and I.E. and there was a touch of "True" color in the Safari and more processing in Firefox and I.E......

As this is a test, most people would not notice this small difference,Probably 5% at most, but to me it is big as I was to represent my goods as close as possible to the "in person item".

I will keep trying to see how to improve using this information that you provided.
