hi

I have photomechanic for ingest and first edit but i wonder what the opinion is on best library/management system . iphoto seems to crumble with high volume of photos
iview is good but i sort of lose photos because i dont have an overall library sop i forget what i have got and iview is being replaced
my laptop wont support aperture and i find lightroom woprks but i still find it hard to manage my whole collection.

ie my favourite is iphoto but I have had problems with it and large libraries.

If you are taking about local viewing ACDSee Pro I found is the best, 8.2 MP files, full screen preview with no loading time at all, they pop up & I can browse from picture to picture instantly. You can also create tags & custom sorting.

If I would be buying now, there would be only two options I would look at... Mediadex Professional (http://www.mediadex.com/intl/mediadexpro.htm) and Extensis Portfolio (http://www.extensis.com/en/products/asset_management/index.jsp;jsessionid=T1UMUYY4JCVGNLAQAAUQ0FQ). They both work great, and pretty much everything else (for at least kinda normal price) is not even close to this. They are not all in one tools, but they are made exactly for this what you are looking for.
