I will be shooting a concert tomorrow night outside for a local band. I have a Rebel XT, 50mm f/1.8 II, Tamron 28-75mm f/2.8 and 580EX speedlite with diffuser for the purpose. I'll be very mobile, able to get on the stage or otherwise, so distance should not be an issue.

Will that suffice for taking good shots? I have limited concert shooting experience.

Should be enough gear.

Read the FAQ sticky.

Don't be afraid to jack your ISO up to 1600 if you need to.

Shoot RAW so you have more control in post processing.

Leave your flash in your bag unless it is absolutely necessary.

Good luck!

Leave your flash in your bag unless it is absolutely necessary.

Quoted for truth...
Also: *If* you're gonna use flash, be subtle about it: Bounce the flash if possible, and drag the shutter...

Is this what I should try to maintain as far as style/quality?

I used flash about 1/2 to 2/3 of the time, usually for fill, and bounced off the ceiling between 45 and 70 degrees, with a piece of paper rubber banded around the head for some frontal redirection.
