Hello,

Does anyone have any examples of Ice Hockey stops - snow spray?

Sorry about the description, but I'm not sure how else to describe it.

What I'm thinking of doing, is to have all the players skate towards me, (one at a time/individual), and have them stop, and aim/shoot the snow spray towards me.

Kind of a 'sportstrait' image.

I'm thinking of using my 300/2.8 too keep them far enough away, so I do not get hit with the snow spray.

Your samples and setup description would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Sincerely,
Randal

What age and talent level are your subjects? Spraying with altitude is not the easiest thing to do - especially if they're little kids or weak skaters.

I agree.depending on the skill level of the skaters stopping short and fast isn't all that easy....

Make a line with tape or something.(hockey sticks) where you want them to be the focal point. You might have to take a few;) pics to get exactly what you are looking for.

What are you doing for lighting? The ice surface will be very harsh?

Is this your daughters team? They are able bodied to make the spray;)

You can even us magic marker to draw right on the ice. When they're stopping on it, you won't pick it up in your shot.
