New Web Site Design

I will be switching to a Wordpress driven site here shortly. In the process I am considering switching from a White background to a Black background and making some other tweaks.

So what do you think, White or Black background?

Please take a look at these and tell:

a) Black or White Background / style
b) Feel free to look through the site and rip it apart. Please critique everything. Logo, text style, layout, navigation, colors, etc. Everything.

I will be making changes through this weekend with the hope of taking the new version live some time next week.

I don't really like the new design, The black is cool, but the red border feels like it came out of a website from 1997.

Also I would put the blurb about you and what you do down the bottom instead as it is kinda distracting from the design of the site when up top.

I think some modern design ideas to attract attention would be good. You can be as simple or as complex as you want to be, simple helps with loading speeds. For inspiration try looking at some modern templates that are on the web.
