Hey guys, I changed this picture to b&w because of varying colour temps in the room. What are your opinions on the b&w conversion, exposure, and heck even composition (that's not quite as important to me)

Thanks!

The picture is quite busy. I see two pictures here - one is the standing girl, and the other is the sitting girl facing the camera. They do not seem to have anything to do with one another. Everything else seems irrelevant.

The histogram shows that both the highlights and the shadows are "over the edge" - i.e., the highlights are blown out and the shadows are blocked up. That contributes to too much overall contrast. However, the detail is washed out in the areas where you need it - i.e., in the white dress and in the faces.

Sorry, fixed.

I have never seen the color version but I like this BW. Have you tried adding some "aging" into it? (http://www.sxc.hu/blog/post/367)

I like it! It tells a story, or rather lets the viewer make up their own story! I think it works in B & W but wouldn't in colour..........

Thanks schmoelzel. Long time no talkie!
I often doubt my b&w conversions when it comes to contrast especially.
