Jasc Software has a beta version of Paint Shop Pro version 9 available.

I didn't try it out (yet), but it seems to have some interesting features: Digital Camera Noise Removal Filter, Chromatic Aberration Removal Filter, Fill Flash Filter, Backlighting Filter, and it can load RAW files from digital cameras.
I liked Paint Shop Pro 8 more than Photoshop Elements 2.0, I found it more user-friendly and more powerful than PSE 2.0. Things that I find lacking in PSP 8 are colour management and 16-bit editing. I don't see anything on the website regarding those...
There's also Paint Shop Pro Studio, which is supposed to be an easier to use and cheaper (?) version of Paint Shop Pro.
