Just checked Canon USA website and they don't have any rebates for DSLR's, only camcorders and other things. :(

I've been waiting (im)patiently myself. I've had my B&H cart all filled up and ready to go for a couple of weeks now.
Anyone have any info?

Again, no, as of yet, there is no information being released for rebates.
I'm gonna go start a poll of how many of these topics will be started today.

There's a thread in market watch section: http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=386095
I have filled up a cart myself too, but I think canon will roll this out in a day or two, and then making it valid for the purchases done after the 15th.

IMO, I'd do EVERYTHING by the book and then some when it comes to dealing with Canon's rebate program. They're looking for reasons not to pay you. If you must buy during "rebate season", I'd be sure to wait for them to announce it.

THanks for the heads up. Actually regardless of the rebate, I was going to buy it. It's cheaper to buy it form BH than in Canada even after the double rebate (isn't that sad?), mainly because of the currency :)
It's just that if there's a rebate, I could save a few more bucks!

This man speaks wisely. If there is a rebate program, follow the directions to the letter & make several copies of EVERYTHING before dropping in the mail. You will likely need to re-send at some point.
Question - Wasn't the last rebate program (Spring 07) an instant rebate?

It was an instant rebate but not as substantial as the "double rebates" they run in the fall. Europe and canada currently have the rebates going and they are mail in.

Has there been a Mark 2 announcement yet? I doubt if there'll be any feasible rebates until that time.

Canon's rebates usually run before new camera announcements, not after.

Or maybe with the dollar so low they are going to raise prices before they introduce rebates.
Or am I just being cruel now?
