I have not posted any images here before and decided to finally jump in. These are two of my daughter...any hhcc is most welcome. shot with a tamron 28-75mm lens, natural light.

Lovely images and model.
I like #2 better. Eyes in both seems a bit soft. I am not sure if it was focus or this lens is soft.

I find the lighting in #1 to be much too flat for my taste. It's nice to have some significant shadows to bring out the facial contours. In this case the light is slightly off axis to her left, but it's not enough. Notice how bright is the bridge of the nose as compared with #2.

#2 has a fantastic pose, but the lighting is again the problem. Note that the lighting is from the direction of her chin. In other words, it's wrong way around. The light should be coming more from above the head and around to the right or left of the head. Any time the lighting is from below, the subject acquires a ghoulish look. Granted, it's not that noticeable, but if you ever want to learn portrait photography you have to pay attention to detail - espectially with the lighting.
