#1 and 4 look a bit soft, and I'ld crop a bit to get the subject out off the center.
#2, 3 and 4 are a bit too dark.
Expression is nice in #1 though.

I agree with Rene on the exposure. That's the hardest part.
Your shutter speed is right on the edge - You'll get some motion blur with moving people at 1/80. I would suggest going to ISO 1600 to give you all the shutter speed you can get.

In the future, shooting RAW will give you more lattitude for exposure adjustments as well as white balance.

Please number your images. Please put the performer's name and venue name in the title ... these people and places work hard and should be named. I'd suggest picking up a 50mm f/1.8 (about $70USD) and then thinking about 85mm f/1.8 as well as bumping the ISO if possible. Number two looks a bit confusing ... some kind of drawing going on in the middle of the concert?

Thanks for all the replies. Yes I noticed on a lot of the other photos I looked through 1/80 gave a lot of blur on the moving feets and hands. But bumping ISO to 1600 I saw a lot of scattered/noise and the photo just didnt look so good.

What steps should I take since photos 2,3 and 4 are too dark?


DwightMcCann. yes I am in the market for the 50 1.8 or 1.4 right now. photo #2 is indeed a drawing. This concert raised money for the cure to find matches in Bone Marrow Transplant Patients.
