getting prints from medium format film

Some years ago, my wife and I went back to Taiwan, where she is from, and had wedding pictures taken there by a professional outfit. In Taiwan, they do things a little differently from the United States, the package we purchased included our negatives, and the right to make reprints. The film was professional grade medium format. Unfortunately, we have been unable to locate a place here in our Dallas, Tx. home that will do reprints for us. The issue seems to surround our legal right to have additional prints made from our negatives. I understand the protective nature of the camera shops that we have visited to get reprints, but we do have the legal right to have them reprinted, the negatives are our property to do as we wish. Does anyone know of a local shop in the Dallas area the will do reprints for us?

my advice to you would be to find a photo lab in Chinatown ... everything should be possible there :lol:

Did you also think about scanning the negatives instead, so you'd have the images in electronic form?

Be sure to post one of the photos once you're done. Normally, those are just awesome and show, how you *really* look :lol: .
My wife and I also had those made in Taiwan, but we weren't given the negatives, unfortunately...

Thanks Andy, I appreciate the advice. I'll let you all know how it turns out.
BTW, I just purchased a canon powershot s60, and will be reading lots here to learn how to use it. I may not talk so much at first, while I just read, absorb, and apply what I learn.

Can you not explain that since you actually have the negatives then it is your choice if you make reprints or not.

Further to this if you were not allowed to make reprints, why did the photographer give you the negs!

Persevere... you'll find somewhere, and they will be great.
