I got my cokin 007 Ir Filter yesterday. I went and shot a few during my lunch hour today. And completely stuffed the exposure up.
I'm determined to get a reasonable photo out of this filter. So if anyone has any tips on using this filter with my 350d, they would be most welcome.

Nice photos. Be aware that Canon put a pretty good IR filter over their imaging chips, so unless that is removed by an IR conversion you'll see some very long exposure times.

Yea I'm not too worried about the exposure times. Just one of those things.

Try adding a stop or two of exposure...I'd like to see the photos.

youll probably need to mess around with your white balance, I've still not got the hang on mine, resorted to doing it in photoshop

Not to hi-jack your thread.. but I have a canon and this was the best I could get out of IR... Exposure times were crazy.. 20ish seconds.. and I still bumped up the exposure a bit in post..

Not trying to hi-jack the thread either but if I may add my 2 cents ... after trying those long exposures I decided if I really wanted to play with IR, I should get my older 10D converted. The cost wasn't much more than the cost of a 77mm Hoya R72 for my L lenses. I can now use all my lenses.
BTW, I can't put the camera down now! :)
These were shot with the 10D, NO filters, hand held ... 1/90th shutter @ f/4.0

This was 1/60th @ f/6.7

A little bit of editing including resize but I don't like to edit so it's a minimum of doing so. They are usable right out of the camera. Had my 10D converted to Deep B&W
The wierd part is, you see a normal scene through the viewfinder, like you would with any slr but you don't know what results will be. You review, adjust and can get it the way you want before moving on. I'm learning! :)
edit: The first was shot with a 28-135 IS @ 33mm
second was shot with a 100-400 L IS @ 160mm
