hello. i am a newbie here and this will be my 2nd if not 1st post. do they make telescopic lens like the ones on the SLR for the G5 and G3? if so, which company and what the's model?
i meant a lens that i can zoom and focus by rotating the lens body manually. i think they are called L lens. kinda like the one on the Pro 1, but i was wondering if they made a add-on for the G5. thanks everyone.

Read this post for more info on G series lenses. You will need to get a lens adapter for the G5, then you can fit a telephoto or a wide angle converter in front of the G5 lens.
I use the Raynox DCR-1850PRO which is a 1.85X teleconverter for my G3.

Of course, Canon sells their own line of lens adapters and lenses to fit on the camera as well.

This is where I purchased my lens adapter for the G3 (same model as the G5 lens adapter). It is a good quality unit for a good price.
I ended up buying my lenses for the G3 (wide and tele) from eBay.

I am looking into this at the moment as well. I have narrowed it down to the Olympus TCON-17, which is thought to be sharper than the canon teleconverter.
4Walls, great shot! Looks like its a great lens. Do you get any vignetting when you back off the zoom?

The lens does vignette when zoomed all the way to wide. I think at a little more than 1/2 way it starts to show vignetting. Here is a shot at full wide zoom....

I finally got my ebay purchase (after a lot of shipping troubles). The lenses are DIGITAL OPTICS Wide angle 0.4x and Telephoto 2x.
The wide angle one has blurry edges as expected, but not as bad as the tests we see around.
The telephoto is very sharp, I'm very happy with the purchase.
They are the cheapest lens on ebay, the two lenses plus 3 filters (also great) cost $109 (52mm adapter is included also).
Here's a photo I just took now using the telephoto. I cropped the middle only to show you the sharpness. I have a G5, the built-in flash was used on this one.
So meet Arnold :)
