I have a Epson Stylus Photo 830U printer. Have printed off other pictures with this printer on both Premium Glossy and photo glossy paper without any problems Prints were just as the pic.
However I have just changed the ink and used a non epson(but compatible) ink cartridge most of the pic printed out okay on the Premium glossy paper slight bluish tinge though and the main subject of my pic which is my black and white cat is all pixalated and looks nothing like the original digital pic.
Any hints? Tips on what I may of done wrong. Or is it because i've used a non epson branded cartridge when i replaced it?
Thanks in advance
Kaylesh

On blue tint thing, the black ink doesn't sound like it is really black, or the printer is combining RGB to make black, which usually has a blue or brown or green tinge.

On the "pixelation", it sounds like the paper isn't taking the ink. Try printing at the finest quality, which means slower print head passes, and see if that helps.

Papers and inks really need to be matched. Third party inks are probably only good for office type printing on plain paper, but not well suited for photos.

Hiya
Thanks for responding. Guess I'll have to fork out for official Epson ink cartridges then. Ohhh well. So much for saving £££.. :) Guess you have to pay a bit to get the best results..
