View Full Version : A potential goodie list...

So I have configured a list of items that I might be buying. The price, while kinda scary and makes me do double and triple takes (it isn't outrageous, but still not an amount I am used to plopping down at once) but is feasible for me right now and I just need to get of the fence and make a choice one way or the other.

What is on the list you ask? Well, here ya go....

1.)
Paterson Background Support System. 8.5'H x 10.3'W

2.)
Savage Seamless Paper Background. 107" X 12 yrds Super Black

3.)
Paterson CyberFlash Panel 300W/S

4.)
Impact Light Stand

5.)
Paterson E-Flash Panel

6.)
Paterson Softbag for 2 CyberFlash panels

7.)
Wein Hot shoe adapter

The grand total for everything to be delivered to my door is...... $590.20

Now. The question is... Do I (A) order all this crap and hope that I made the right decisions? Or do I (B) order everything overly confident in my choices? Or do I (C) sit back and twiddle my thumbs in a constant state of un-decidedness. My typical response would be C.

Of course this is all keeping in mind that it will be quite some time before I will be able to make this bold of a step financially with photography.

Yikes.

The only thing I would suggest/offer would be that, in my experience, the muslin backgrounds are so much easier to work with (and look nicer) than the paper backgrounds. I've used both, but prefer the cloth because you can get much more interesting effects, it's lighter weight, and it doesn't rip like paper does. Yes... they are more expensive, but worth it, in my opinion.

That's my two cents anyway....

Yeah. I have been told the same thing from some friends. The problem is that the budget for everything won't allow for the muslin backdrop.

Hopefully in the next few months I will be able to grab one after the fact.
