I just got the Mennon hand strap I really like it! I know that this is a cheap strap, but I just got it so that I could see if I like using a hand strap before I spend a lot on something else. Great option for those wondering if they would like a hand strap.

This is where I got it...

The only thing that I do not like is that it is not very padded at all, it kind of hurts my hand.

I am using a 20D without grip, so E1 is not an option. I would like to know if the other straps available have padding, or if they are all kind of like this.

What is the best strap out there for non-gripped cameras?

Suggestions for padding for this one?

My Mennon Strap also is not padded, however, I do not carry the camera with this strap; I use it oonly when shooting. I carry the camera in a holster case.

I use this strap on my third body with my 70-200mm f/4L IS lens. I carry two additional bodies and w/a and medium zoom lens on an Optech Reporter strap.

Looks nice. The base is better than mine and it's about the same price. Might pick this up actually. Thanks brooke!

I know you said the E1 was not an option but maybe with that bottom adapter from the one you have you could use the E1. I have it with a grip and love it. I have no problems with carrying my camera all day on my hand with the E1. May be worth trying.

Anyone used Camdapter? They look vey nice, but kind of expensive.

I have one because the shop didn't have the Canon strap in stock. But I also don't often carry with it, just when shooting.
