Hi everyone, i will first introduce my self. Im 21 yrs old student from Argentina. So i will have to apologize for my english :D .
Im new in the world of digital cameras so i have null expirience with them, thats why im asking for your help.
Ive decided to buy a digital camera so i firstly was going to buy an A80 but after making more research i found canon s50 which have Excelents critics as well as a80 but how s50 had 5mp and better image quality i started seeing this camera as the ONE. But then i started readings S60 reviews which said that it was basically same as s50 but with wide angle , better battery life and improvement on its design , and the cons where softness in cornres, more red eye.
So i really dont know which one i should get? S50 is better than S60(a normal user of the camera will notice those softness corners??.
Hope you could help me, im really going crazy trying to figure out my best choise.
Oh i almost forget, i dont pretend to use the camera profesionally just only taking good quiality pictures at birthdays, trips, outdoor, indoor etc... for all around use.

I have a Canon Powershot S30 and it has been a super camera for me. It is small enough to carry around all day ( a small case on your belt is nice) and very robust.

I don't know about the softness in corners with the S60 but I usually crop my pictures a little bit anyway, so I don't know if that would really be an issue with me. The printing software that came with the S30 crops some of the photo anyway when printing borderless 4X6 prints.

My 3.2 mp camera is great, so I would think that the the S50 would be super. It would let you make some close crops of your pictures and still have plenty of detail.

The important thing about battery life that I have found is to turn off your camera after every shot when you really want to extend the battery life. I can leave the camera on all the time while walking around taking pictures and maybe get about 80 images or I can turn the camera off frequently and get hundreds. I have two batteries but would like to have a third.

I don't anything about the A series.

Good luck.
