View Full Version : GAPS.. BEE EATERS, HAWKS, EGRET... AND WHATEVER ELSE THEY'RE CALLED.

I am not a birder.. not even remotely but, I will admit to aquiring a whole new respect for those that are, i'm incredibly impressed by the patience and persistence that y'all have to have in order to take photos of these guys.. I even learned a thing or two about how to take them. (I did have one heck of a birder with me).. :cool:.. but, my attempts, pitiful as they were I wasn't able to actually get a BIF.. but, if given the oppurtunity I would try.. which, is more than before I left home. If I spotted anything more exciting than a duck I immediately put the camera down knowing that it would be a lesson in futility for me to even attempt it. So, without further ado.. a few of my birds.. with a big thanks to Jake, Dave and Tommy for pointing dang near everyone out to me.. I wouldn't have noticed by myself.

Nice colorful bee eater, but I am partial to the stork. Lot of subtle colors on that bird. :)

The last image is a killer.....the second last is very nice as well....again...the last image is one fine shot....Excellent

Loveing the stork as well, perfect timing and a great moment!
You are lucky to have gotten the green in the wing,. the light had to hit it just right for this iridescence to show,. I have one out maybe a dozen that really shows the green.
Well done!

I haven't looked up that little hawk yet, but what a beauty! Nice morning light too (or was it sunset?)

you got some nice ones ..,. I am liking the Greater Kestrel, Yellow-billed Stork and second Beeater shots. So are you using Bibble now?

I can't get the dang thing to load, and haven't gotten a confirmation email even though i've tried three times...

Is it the forum registration email you have not received?

Jake hasn't gotten his confirmation email either. I have an account on their forum do you want me to contact them ?

btw I just tried registering here: http://ssl.bibblelabs.com/account/login (is that what you did ? ) and I got the confirmation email to activate the account.

morning light, I would like to see yours as well.... ;) and I know what you mean about the light I had quite a few of them that didn't catch the green the way that one did. I just got lucky.
