Holding the camera above my head... I call this one a lucky accident (funny though, they're happening more often these days...). Keep or throw?

I'd keep it, I like it a lot - and some of our own favourite shots have been lucky accidents (not sure what that says about our actual ability though).

If you're going to cut him off, why not split him directly in half? One of those 'artsy' type pics. And he must be the tallest man on the planet (or you're the shortest) if you had the cam above your head :)

I dunno Rob, but the more I learn, the luckier I get ;)

The camera was above my head to change the background, not because he was tall! I didn't want sky in the photo.

Good call on the half comment. I like it better as-is, after trying it, but good idea.

I like it, his eyes are a little bit too close to the edge but I dont think that spoils the image, still a keeper I reckon ... couple and their friends will like it ... MOB, MOG's etc will think it was a mistake :)

I can see where Robs coming from regards the camera angle, it looks like you were stood in a hole if the camera was above your head :)

Yup, keep it. I've done this tons of times, do a shot on accident while testing/setting up lighting ratios/etc and I'm like "damn, I like that angle!" lol

I am not crazy about it. To me it shows that it was accidental. I think if his head wasnt cropped off then it might work better. But that's just my taste

I agree, while I do find the frame to be filled nicely the head thing bothers me.

I like it! It's a keeper by my standards.

Personally the head thing doesn't bother me at all.

I'll take luck over skill any day. I might try cropping up to lose the hand, but am not sure.

Not sure.. the head being chopped off (especially with the fact you grabbed his full torso and a portion of the legs) and the angle of his body (he seems to be on a slight angle with maybe his left shoulder leaning back a bit too much) kind of bother me.

I am going to have to agree with csm328 on the "split him directly in half" also pull in tighter if going for that effect. ;)

I'd prolly toss it.. sorry

Tim-- too bad you didn't have one of the bride from the other side ...then you can have a set of them and put them together or have them separate when they are not getting along. :)

I kind of like it, too. I would probably keep it as that would probably be one of my better images from the day. I'm sure you have better shots.

I kinda like it too, but I think I'd like it more if the lighting was a little less flat...

To me it looks like he was posing with someone else who blinked, etc. and your cropped that person out. Even though that isn't true, it looks that way to me.

It looks more like an accident than being intentional to me (his face expression is nice though, and you might wanna try different cropping out some of the area around him ... )

Agree w/ Jamie that lighting is a bit flat.

I'm kind of with those who think the "accidentalness" is too apparent. If it were an inch or so above his eyes I think it would have a better chance at working for me. The eyes that close to the top is all I see. I think you definitely have a new angle to keep in mind, however.

Thanks everyone. It's a keeper.
