Garbage Image : ID required - PLEASE !

Hi Guys;

Thanks in advance for any help...

Spotted these in mid-central Maine a couple of weeks ago in the Moosehead lake region... Looked to be about the size of a blue-jay... couldn't get anywhere near them!

Any ID you can give me would be very much appreciated...

They are undoubtedly Grey Jays. They are normally very tame little critters.

THANK-YOU for that... These will be a "first" for me...

They may well be fairly tame in a "garden-setting" environment, but this was literally in the middle-of-nowhere, so I doubt this bunch would have had much contact with humans; hence their wariness...

The image I posted is about a 75% crop on a 200mm lens as the light was fading rapidly - hence the poor quality...

I'd love to see some of those here, but we're outside of their range. I've found though, that the backwoods birds can actually be more tame than their city cousins. They haven't found out about us yet. :lol:
