After reading this, I understood that I don't know how my 18-55 performs:

I have no idea when the lens is at it's best. Please tell me about it.

Wow,i like that guy but he has a serious problem with build quality!

"The build characteristics are too often ignored, although in my opinion they have much more of an immediate impact on photography than the optical ones -- they can either get or lose you the shot, while the optical quality only determines how the picture looks once it's in the box. And personally, I'd rather have the shot with a slightly lower quality than miss it altogether"

Good grief!!Is he using lenses made by the mr potato head toy company??!! :lol:

I think that with EF-S 18-55, low contrast is definitely a problem.
