Has anybody tried one of these flash units?

The Guide Number is only 38. Assuming they used the same methods for measurement as Canon does, and they mean Meters (which gives them the benefit of the doubt vs assuming feet), that's weaker than the 430EX.

Also recycle times are unspecified. They're probably on the slow side. Doesn't say whether it has high speed sync. I doubt it does. Too many unknowns...that tells me it's a cheap flash that isn't worth the $190 it'd cost to get it to your doorstep.

No, I haven't. It appears that it's an expensive flash for what it is. The back of the flash resembles Sigma Super a bit, GN is lower than the Sigma, and the zoom range is limited. What's the advantage of this flash? The Yinyan label? J/K.

I was just curious about it. It looks like a pretty big gamble to me but I was also wondering if it was a rip-off of the Sigma 500 Super.

I would say not quite. The seller is simply keyword spamming in the title. It doesn't resemble a Sigma 500 Super in any way other than being a flash and having E-TTL compatibility..but there are cheaper Sunpaks that do that much.

Being from China, there's not much comeback on the seller if he sends a carboard box with a card in it with a picture of a flash instead of an actual working flash. If somebody had gambled on it, I'd have been mildly interested to hear their results.

The seller has a good enough record that I wouldn't even concern myself with that...

Sure it's better than selling you a flash with toxic paint on it. Better to stay away from Made In China goods for your own sake.
