I was just wondering how you all carry your CF cards with you at weddings? Right now i use a case made by hoodman that clips on my belt and holds 4 cf cards. i have a ton more cards and i dont really like the case so i was wondering what other options were out there.

I use a cheap black thing I bought at Fred Meyer. Sorry, I don't know exactly what it's called...I think it just said "memory card holder." It holds 6, 3 on each side, and zips up.

I just pile them in my right front pocket of my pants. When they're full, they go in my right cargo pocket or back pocket (depending on what pants I'm wearing).

I carry a laptop, dump them on as soon as they are full.
But you can get really cheap black folders for CF cards, any store that sells cameras has them.

I use the card safe by Gepe, water proof version. I switch cards out in the case with the used one going back in upside down. Never, ever misplace a card this way. End of the night they all get uploaded to a laptop prior to leaving. Oh yea, it floats to.

I use the neoprene zip case that came with my sandisk cards. I carabiner it onto the case aI use to carry extra batteries etc (which replaced a camera bag I didn't really need on me all the time, huge diffence in how my back felt at the end of a day). It's two sided so full cards go one one side and empty on the other.

I checked out the Gepe and i like it but it only holds 4 cards. The think tank is probably the winner, perfect size for now as i have about 9 or 10 cards. thanks again! if anyone else uses anything different feel free to share!

That's what I use too. When I get in the heat of shooting though I will stage one at ready in my back pocket until I have a minute to stow it away. But what a great idea to turn them over! I never thought of that I have been putting the full ones on the bottom

I use two Lowepro DMC-V cases that can hold 4 cars each. They usually stay on my belt. I only have 6 cards right now, so that works for me.

Not idiot proof, I have managed to put an already used card back into the camera. Luckily I had enough time to realise why it only had 3 shots left.
Most of the time it works though, it's just when my brain goes on strike that I get problems.
Which unfortunately is as often as the postal service (UK reference, sorry people)

I think I have the same one. It's like $7.99 from McBain, right? hahha
I use two of them and they're strapped on my belt so it NEVER leaves my body. Those are much more valuable than my markII/24-70/580II !!!!!
I use two. Empty cards in right case, full cards on the left.
Looks like this but holds cards instead of filters:

Don't know why Lowepro doesn't show this wallet on their website anymore. I see it in stores all the time.

This response is to help other newbies. I did my first wedding this year in April. I didn't have pockets on my pants and didn't realize how fast things would go. I just stuck one that was full in the top inside part of my pants. Bathroom break came around and it had a quick visit with the toilet. The story is much longer but I'll leave it at that.
Luckily, photos were in tact and life went on as normal. Needless to say, I make sure I have pockets or I keep my canon card holder on my hip. I have several brands of cards (San Disk, Lexar, etc.) but I'm really stuck on Transcend since that one survived that hectic moment.

I do not have an assistant, as of now I have enough memory to get me through the day so I dont worry about downloading during the day.

After extensive market research and calculation, I concluded that 36GB of CF and SD cards was and is a more feasible option than a laptop and assistant of the non-familial slavery ie paid type-- especially factoring in that my family members are neither the type I'd take to a wedding nor computer literate.

Same as Toogy. Think Tank Pixel Pocket Rocket. I clip it to my belt loop and stick it in my front pocket. I figure that even if all of my gear is stolen, I've still got the cards.

The problem is not how they're stored, but where.
I shoot 1,000 images a wedding on average, and put my used CF cards back in their plastic cases they came in, but more importantly, they go in a special pocket of my fanny pack. I'm very careful to zip it up. Pants pockets are unacceptable (per a previous toilet post) as they change aspect when you sit. A zipped fanny pack can be turned upside down and not lose the contents.
And I don't use high-GB cards, either. Just big enough for about 100 photos. That way if you lose a card (or it gets corrupted), you don't lose half the wedding.
And backing up a solid-state device to a non-solid-state device (CF card to disk) makes no sense to me...the disk (moving parts) is far more vulnerable than a CF card. I also don't have the time to be making copies at a wedding, it's far to busy.
