Well, I'll bet you're glad you brought thatup.

The search engine on this forum works very well for simple searches and will probably bring up about a bazillion hits if you serch '300D' and 'Hack.'

Hello people, this is my 1st post.

Hey for those of you that have hacked your 300 DR to the status of the 10D, how is it working out for you? I have owned my digital rebel since December of 03 and really like it alot. I have not had time to really use it till now. I was curious about the hack due to I wish there was a FEC on the 300. Also can you guys that have hacked yours steer me to the exact firmware you used that is working for you now?

To answer your question. The hack works great. I have had zero issues with it other than the known, posted issues. It's good, but it still does not create a 10D from the DReb. Close but still not the same. You still fill the buffer incredibly fast. I will be upgrading soon. Just waiting to see what Canon has in it's bag of fall tricks.

Works great. Gives you about half the functionality of a 10 D, although I am fortunate enough to have one of each.

It makes switching back and forth between the cameras a little less confusing.

I would call my hacked DRebel a 305.

I installed the hack too for about 3 months. It is working fine now.
