When I open a picture in CS3, the is displayed at 16.67%. How do I get CS3 to display at a larger percentage?
Also where do I go to view more tools and to display them as icons in the menu bar instead of having to go through File>menu etc..
Thanks
Pat

Press "Shift" and the "+" key... to zoom in,
or
"Shift" and the "-" key to zoom out. :)

You can also click on "Window > Navigator" which will give you a small thumbnail with a slider for zoom.

If you currently have no toolbars, i recommend reloading the workspace : "Window > Workspace > Default Workspace..."

Hope this helps :)

Is there anyway of keeping the viewing % at say 25% without the need to adjust everytime I open an image? I am not refering to the NAvigator section. When you do a File>open image, the image displays on the left.

Is Painstshop Pro for example, all images opened are displayed about 25% so it's nice an big to PP.
Thanks
Pat

Souwalker, if you're too busy to simply press Ctrl + once for each image, then perhaps you need to consider hiring an assistant? I think you're worrying about nothing.

(Yes, it's actually "Ctrl" not "Shift", as Nirajpopat mistakenly said.)

I don't know of a way to do what you're asking in PS.

Also: Cmd)Ctrl)+Opt(Alt)+0 = 100% and Cmd+0 = full screen ;)

This might be handy: Photoshop shortcuts (http://www.photoshopsupport.com/tutorials/jennifer/keyboard-shortcuts.html)

you can also set the "Screen Mode" accordingly, which will preload the image into it's windows, at either the standard (half of maximised) or in full maximised window, that would cover the entire work area of PS.

PS preloads the image using an appropriate resolution that will fit on the screen, be it 50% 33% or 25%... i dont believe it is adjustable. If the image resolution is smaller than the resolution of your screen, it will load it at 100%.

I understand this isn't quite a solution, but after upgrading from a 17" square monitor to a 19" widescreen monitor, my photo no longer opens at 16.67% in Photoshop. It now opens automatically at 25%.

If it's a higher resolution screen, an upgrade (for example 1024x768 > 1280x1024) Photoshop compensates for this by allowing you to automatically see more of your image resolution, and thus it can display your image at 25% instead of 16.67% it previously used to :)

hiding the pallets will allow an image to open bigger, as Photoshop tries to fit the pic in the space available..

the other option is to have a screen with a larger resolution :)
