My little Screech Owl visited me agean about 15 min. ago.........

HAHA, well, the little critters are safe for tonight then. He won't be able to see anything for a couple hours. :)

He will be back in just a little while. It's no worse than the lightning storm we had 1 hour ago.

No, he is the resident owl in my back yard, and is quite used to my observing him.

Not unheard of. Some of the guys up North have done that with Snowy Owls, and they seem to like them. ;)

No need for that, a small ditch behind our house provides all the rodents and other food sources for this little owl.

Thanks Liz. Actualy, I have a breeding pair that stay around my house year long. I only see them at night, I have tried to find where they stay during the daylight hours, but without success.

That's a great capture! :) I had a great horned owl enjoying a rabbit on top of my light pole a few weeks ago. We went outside to watch him and he could care less. I didn't spotlight him though. Those eyes are something else.
