Later in the evening, this boat was "sacrificed" in the Festival of Fisherman by getting burned to the ground.

I really like this shot, great exposure and colours and lots of interest in foreground, middle and background. Have you got any of it burning?

BTW...I negeleted to mention in the first post that this was with a 10D and a 28-135 IS lens.

Nice picture of the flames. I wonder if there is anyway to get more detail of the boat.

Was the sail boat in the background important?
If not you should try to get rid of it. Can be distracting.
As for the fire picture. Might have been a little better if you had over exposed a little more. The flames some times will fool the sensors leaving you a bit under exposed.
