Well, my first car shoot, a trial run, was something of a disaster. Those things are tough to shoot. It was great fun and an almost vertical learning curve. We started out to shoot one Cougar (green) and ended up in a private airfield hanger with 2 Cougars, a 50s Merc, a 73 Jag XKE V12, a vintage BMW, three aircraft, and sodium vapor lights. Here's the two Cougars. And only two days of post processing required to get this far.

Comments/suggestions would be appreciated (I think).

The second one seems nice.. but on the first picture.. the green backgroud with the green color car doesn't seem to do it for me. just my opinion. but nice shots

I'm not really digging the shopped backgrounds. It gives them a kind of "floating" look.

photos guy will like them :)

#1 looks good, #2 the angle is all wrong imo--shouldn't show the tread

Thanks for the suggestions - some clarification if you could - is it the wheel turned out? What do you mean by not showing the tread? I know the angle on the car could be a lot better - next time. But I thought it was normal to turn the wheels toward the camera - no?

BTW - the PhotosGuy car tips helped me a bunch so there is an influence there.

Cock the wheel to the right, instead of the left. More wheel, less tread.

OK - thanks, I had it all wrong. Live and learn. Shoot and learn.

also, I would have turned the wheels the other way in #2 to see more rim and less tire.

photos guy will like them It's a reasonable start, & nobody gets it all right the first time. Some of you still complain about mine? :D And only two days of post processing required to get this far It gets easier after that. After you cut out the windows for the background, don't forget to put the glass back in. See the 2nd pic: Some shots of Jim's '68 AMX (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=393917)
Those things are tough to shoot. The cars will do most of the work for you if you give them a chance by putting them in the "right light"?

Thanks for more tips....I'll see about putting that glass back in. Cars offer a terrific learning opportunity in both camera and photoshop.

And I have read and re-read your tips and greatly appreciate them. They have helped immensely. Now to practice it all.
