View Full Version : The super macro guessing game (2)

Aaargh! I was fixated on the idea that it was a write-protect device, and clearly it's not the write-protect device on a video tape... it never occurred to me that it might be a different part of a video tape.
Good macro, Guineh.

HA! I didn't see the name of the poster who said "Not a cassette or video cassette." I thought YOU wrote that.
OK...I'll scout around for something to shoot. If I don't have anything up by say 8ish tonite...someone can grab it!

Incidentally I'd just like to say that that's a nice photo. Bright, crisp and sharp. We've had a fair few on SMGG recently that have been dark and/or blurry and/or grainy and/or indistinct, and this is a welcome change.
I've still no idea what it is, though! It's the fact that there seem to be three adjustment wheels that's puzzling me.
Personally I wouldn't mind a clue. Maybe hinting at the size of the object (e.g. the diameter of those knurled wheels) would help? But it might be polite to see whether other people also want a clue before pandering to my incompetence.

Well, it helped that in the distant past I had posted a similar image (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showpost.php?p=3353947&postcount=19412) myself...
Unfortunately, I don't have any macro shots to hand, and I'm at work without my camera, and I'm not going to be in this evening, and the USB subsystem on my PC seems to have died so that I can't get images from my camera onto the PC anyway. I need to fix the PC and shoot some more macros. But in the meantime, I think the custom is to throw it open for the first taker...
