Yes, that is one of the hints and there were 2 hints in that one statement....but it is not a pencil or eraser. You are getting warmer though.

Lets look at the clues...

Sorry. No camera sucks. I have had to weather a pretty short but powerful crisis lately, and had to downsize from a full pro/2body rig, to a 40D so far, and maybe even sell that too. :(

But the main thing is -as a friend just put it- to keep the faith, and keep a new camera purchase in mind.

Snake had some good clues, and I've had enough little nicks on the ends of fingers to have experience. I also recognized the fingerprint pattern. That along with the clues led me to the guess.

This one may be pretty easy, but it's the only one I've got ready right now.

Actually, I don't really ever bandage smallish cuts like that. It semi-meshed together while I was eating and an hour later I went to play guitar. After around 5 minutes I looked down and there was blood all over my strings at which point I took the pic :D
