Barramundi

Love that name.

-Pleiades-
25th of January 2008 (Fri), 05:51
nope, but getting warmer, this fellow isn't the best eating,he's really boney.

We had a pet barramundi once, he was the supidest of fish but had the best personality out of all our fishes. He got too big for our tank and we had to give him to the local high school :(

PeteJaffa
25th of January 2008 (Fri), 05:56
It really isn't a Barramundi?

Even when I look at the two pics they are the same. lol

Fish noob over here.

I've got a choice of 2 now and I'll go for Bullrout?

-Pleiades-
25th of January 2008 (Fri), 05:58
not even close!

And bullrout, nope, though we have one of them in the tank, a bullrout is way too small. This fella is about 60cm/2 foot long.

His name sarts with 'S'

PeteJaffa
25th of January 2008 (Fri), 05:59
I just noticed the bullrout is a bit wee.

Sooty Grunter was my other guess.

Hi all
I'm new to the forum, subscribed a while ago and have just been looking around. I don't normally do forums as I am not that confident in photography and don't want to make myself look an idiot so I usually just read what other people have to say... so this is my first post !!

Anyway.. this object ... is it photography related... if so is it a diffuser that you put on the end of your flash!!

I've just realised that I didn't go to the end of the thread... told you I that I was new to forums .. and that I didn't want to make an idiot of myelf.... guess I just have as my guess probably has nothing to do with the last photo ... sorry!! I think I will just go back to reading everyone elses posts!!

Look around the many forums and threads and don't be afraid to post your pics.

Hi Kim and welcome!

You never learn anything if you don't ask questions, and no-one will think any less of you! I wasn't a forum person either till I found POTN. Few silly questions along the way on how to do stuff and I think I can say I'm addicted!

If you're talking about my pic of the fish then yes, a stofen omni bounce diffuser was used on the end of the flash (though I can't take credit for the pics, my other half took them)

They looked the same to me too when I knew nothing about them. But it's amazing, each species has their own personalty, it's amazing!

And no, I didn't make him up ;)

There's two different types of Saratoga, the Jardini and the Leichardti, though only very sublte differences between the two to look at them.

Since its inception it has gone through a bunch of times where the pace is fast and furious, and then others where it dies down for a while.

I agree with Lawrie, someone else should post one up. I am heading outta town skiing for the weekend, or I would. I actually shot a few the other day in preparation, as I have been quite slack in here for some time myself. :)
